First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge that Nicole and Luke's wedding took place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Katzie First Nation.
Most couples I meet through referrals and through social media. I met Nicole at work and it took her 10 mins to hire me as her photographer. Quick and easy. The fastest booking I've ever had.
This isn't surprising as Nicole is as easy going as they come. Full of energy, full of positivity and allowed me to do my thing!
Sunday October 20, 2022
With smoky skies threatening to cover us...the light came out and Nicole and Luke had warm light for intended first look. The wedding party donned black suits and dressed for the occasion, framing Nicole and Luke's first impression. With Pitt lake nearby and the valley embracing them, photos were as seamless as them seeing each other for the first time.
I could easily see how close and how important each of Nicole and Luke's bridesmaids and groomsmen were to them. I always ask my bride and groom to tell me a little bit about each individual and why they're so important to them. I love hearing about how important these wedding members are. From lifeguard friends to work buddies...these relationships were forged long before this day.
Nicole and Luke decided on a private legal ceremony before the formal exchange of vows nestled in the foreground of valley backdrop.
The rest of their day was spent celebrating at a hidden gem of a wedding venue in the Fraser Valley: Golden Eagle Golf Club.
With the backdrop of a golf course and the fading light...family photos and formal couple shots were intimate and picturesque.
I truly believe that Golden Eagle Golf might have some of the most beautiful backdrops in the lower mainland. Lamika; wedding coordinator and crew were amazing to work with and were efficient in their candor and service, even to the point of accommodating a golf cart for me and Nicole and Luke to get a sunset shot and realizing one of the shots I had been thinking of.
A picturesque ending to our outdoor time and transition for the rest of the night.
I'd like to thank Nicole and Luke for having me for their day, to be part of their family and friends. Everyone so kind and caring. The speeches were not only comical but cheered on their faith as the cornerstone of everything they do in their lives. A beautiful day, a beautiful evening, a beautiful beginning to what lies ahead.
Thank you guys for having me. Truly an honor.
On behalf of the Nicole and Luke, they'd like to send out a Special thanks to their vendors for making their day memorable and magical.
